Former Fashion Publicist and Advertising Executive Lorenzo Martone is on a mission to change the look of urban cycling. Intended as a bold statement of style, his debut collection of bikes for men and women is now available at The Conran Shop Marylebone and Chelsea stores.
His name may not have been too familiar before now, but Martone has been snapped and papped with former fiancée Marc Jacobs more times than we can count, and has most recently appeared alongside his equally fashionable wheels in the likes of Vogue, Elle and The Daily Telegraph. The Brazilian born designer combines style credentials and pedal power in a range that nods to his fashion prowess.
A monochromatic treat, the collection consists of five colours and each carries 
the signature red chain and self-coloured tyres. Acknowledging the needs of the modern cyclist, each bike comes complete with a basket for your bag, shopping, laptop or much-loved pet. Not just eye candy, the tech stats are impressive in their own right – an innovative SRAM duomatic gear system automatically adjusts and changes gear depending on the speed you are riding at.
Speaking of the future, Martone is on the verge of releasing a range of locks and helmets which will be suitably chic and cool, not to mention a range of accessories in partnership with a jewellery designer. Watch out for new lines added each spring, you can guarantee they will look as good in your home as they do on the street.
